I’ve been quite when it comes to SCOM over the last few months, but since I changed jobs my hands-on have been been limited since I am not the primary SCOM administrator.

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been working on a new application. After a talk with a developer who wanted to see (in real time) if the server he was logged onto, had any alerts.

So I started to develop the application, and came up with a simple system tray notification that looks like this:
Basicly it shows the server name (hidden on this example), last update time, and the amount of alerts on the server.

I have a rather long to-do list before this will be available for the public (alpha/beta/prod) – The list includes:

  • Run as a service
  • Set update interval – right click function
  • Export alerts to text/html/csv file – right click function
  • Error logging
  • Config.ini ✅
  • Installer ✅

I am putting this up for the public view, because I want your suggestions. Is this something your company/clients will be able to benefit from? Are there any features that you would like this see in this small app? Share it with me here, or contact me through the contact form.

As any of my products, this will be free to download in all versions.

I expect first alpha version to be available on this site in this Quarter (Q4-2017).
